Our Standards

Every piece of content on DecorCoupon is created with one goal: helping you make informed furniture purchasing decisions. We never publish content designed to deceive, mislead, or pressure readers into purchases that don't serve their interests.

Product Testing Process

Our product reviews follow a structured testing process:

  1. Ordering: We purchase products through the same channels available to consumers. No special review units.
  2. Unboxing & Assembly: We document the full experience including packaging quality, instructions clarity, tools required, and time to complete.
  3. Extended Use: Products are used for a minimum of 4 weeks (mattresses: 30 nights; outdoor furniture: 8+ weeks) before publishing a review.
  4. Scoring: We evaluate build quality, materials, comfort, durability, value, and assembly. The same criteria are applied to every brand.
  5. Publication: Reviews include both pros and cons. We do not omit negative findings.

Coupon Code Verification

Coupon code accuracy is central to our credibility. Our verification process:

  • Every code is tested at checkout at least once per week
  • Codes that fail verification are removed from the site within 24 hours
  • New codes are tested twice before publication (once by the content author, once by a separate team member)
  • "Last updated" dates reflect the most recent verification, not the original publication date

Affiliate Revenue & Editorial Independence

DecorCoupon earns revenue through affiliate partnerships. This is how we fund product purchases, testing, and site operations. However:

  • Commission rates are never a factor in our ratings or recommendations
  • We review brands without affiliate programs when they are relevant to our audience
  • Editorial staff do not have access to commission rate data when writing reviews
  • All affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page via our affiliate disclosure

Corrections & Updates

If we publish inaccurate information, we correct it promptly and transparently. If you spot an error in any of our content, email hello@decorcoupon.com and we will investigate within 24 hours.

Content Update Frequency

  • Coupon codes: Verified weekly; removed within 24 hours if expired
  • Brand reviews: Reviewed and updated quarterly, or sooner if a brand makes significant product changes
  • Comparisons and guides: Updated every 3-6 months or when new brands/products are added
